Lease information
1. Non-Exclusive Licenses (Leases)
A non-exclusive license lets multiple artists use the same instrumental. The producer still owns the copyright and can sell the same beat to other people. These are affordable and usually come with limits.
We break non-exclusive leases into different tiers:
MP3 / Basic License: Gives you a tagged MP3 file. It usually includes strict caps, such as a limit of 5,000 to 10,000 audio streams and a short term limit.
WAV / Premium License: Gives you a higher-quality WAV audio file. It raises or removes stream caps and allows for wider distribution on streaming platforms.
2. Exclusive Licenses
An exclusive license gives you sole rights to use the beat going forward. [1, 2]
How it works: Once you buy an exclusive license, the producer removes the beat from their store so no one else can buy it.
The catch: Any previous non-exclusive leases sold before your purchase remain valid, meaning those older songs can stay online.
Best for: Major projects, label releases, or artists with a large budget and established audience
3. Buy-Out Options ($1,000+)
A full buy-out transfers total ownership and copyright of the composition completely to you. The producer gives up all rights to the beat, and it is permanently retired from their catalog.
